Bereavement Ministry

The Bereavement Ministry assists the Pastor with funeral arrangements by being the communications link for the family of the departed, the funeral home and the Church. This is a key position which requires knowledge and compassion in helping families through this difficult time and a resource for the Pastor in organizing the service.

Seeking Volunteers for Receptions at Funeral Services at Holy Family Church (added 2023-02-23)

We are looking for a few volunteers from the Parish to assist when we have a funeral. Some families request a Reception following the Service and we need to have a least one person available during that time. Ideally, we would have a list of 3 or 4 individuals to call upon when the need arises.
The volunteer would be responsible to:
• unlock the Hall to provide access to the Caterer for set up
• monitor the Church and Hall during the reception
• ensure the building is locked and secure after the guests and Caterer leave.
Most funerals are at 11am and the reception follows around 12pm for approximately two hours. The Caterers are responsible for all the food and clean up aspects. If you are interested in volunteering for this ministry, please speak with Barb or Judy. Thank you for your consideration.
